The Kindergarten girls and boys visited the Fremont County Veterinary Clinic to learn about taking care of pets and farm animals. Ms. P who lives near the Pointy Patches Pig Ranch in Letter People Land and her friend, Ms. V, accompanied the students. Dr. Laumann, Dr. McGargill, and Nancy gave the students a tour of the clinic. The boys and girls learned a lot about the importance of giving animals food and water, exercise, shelter, and tender loving care. They also learned that animals need to see the doctor for check-ups and when they are sick just like people. There were many dogs and two cats being cared for at the clinic. While touring the clinic the students got to see the big walk-in cooler that stores medicine, the surgery room, x-rays of animals, and the big cattle chute that tips the cow on its side so the vet can work on the cow's hooves. Dr. Tiarks joined us for a group photo and the students enjoyed a special treat (pink and purple pig cookies and pink punch!) provided by Dr. and Mrs. Jamison.
