We have met two new letter people, Ms. K and Ms. Y. They are world travelers. Ms. K travels all over the world to kicking contests. She has kicked her "kaboom kick" in Kenya, Korea, and Kuwait. She is really proud of her kicking talent, but she is even more proud that she is kind to all of the children and people of the world that she has met. She says that when you are kind to others, they are kind to you.
Ms. Y travels to the mountains in Switzerland where she practices her yodeling yawn. She discovered that people in Switzerland speak three different languages-German, French, and Italian. We have been learning Spanish words throughout the year, and now we are learning to count and say hello in other languages, too! We are even learning sign language to communicate without words. Does anyone in your family speak another language?
Today we are celebrating Earth Day. We want to make everyday Earth Day by reducing, reusing, and recycling. We learned that there are three things we can do to help take care of the Earth: do not litter, save water, and save electricity.
We have really learned a lot this year in Kindergarten. Our number skills, our sight word vocabulary, and our ability to decode words are improving everyday. Ask your child to demonstrate and share with you all of the things they have learned this year. Please continue to support your child at home with review and practice of these skills.
