Mr. D Does a Dazzling Dance Demonstration!

Mr. D joined our class this week. He did a "dazzling dance" demonstration. He was darting, and dipping, and diving all over! He was doing a type of dance called flamenco dancing. (We thought that word sounded a lot like "flamingo", the name of the pink bird.) We learned that flamenco dancing originated in Spain. This type of dance includes fancy footwork, finger snapping, and flowing arm movements. Mr. D invited us to dance with him. We really enjoyed the dancing.

We have been learning about extinct and endangered animals this week. We have been learning about ways that we can take care of the earth in order to protect the endangered animals.

We have been reading fiction and non-fiction books about dinosaurs, measuring items and comparing them to the size of a T-Rex tooth, and writing a non-fiction class book about a pet dinosaur.

Perhaps you know a lot about dinosaurs, endangered animals, or dancing. Share that information or skill with your child. Then, perhaps, your child can share it with our class.

  1. It was fun to watch the kids dance and it looked like everyone was having a great time.
